Yay!!!!

Why hello there again friends. I just wanted to let everyone know that Bu is fixed and once again sings her songs of joy. Actually she plays better than she did before she broke. In all honesty I got her back about 4 days ago and I've just been too lazy to write about it. But now I did. Yay!

AHHHHHHHH

Hello friends. It has indeed been a while since I have posted on my blog. This is mainly due to the facts that not a lot has happened and I've become friendly with Mr. Facebook. Anyway, though today is Christmas Day I come to you all not in joy, happiness, or in good tidings. Oh no, tonight I come to you all in sorrow. One of my dearest and closest friends has found a terrible fate. Bu (pronounced Boo) has passed away tonight. For those of you who do not know, Bu was my guitar that I have often been seen playing at church and around town. However, she has sung her last song. Not to sound creepy, but Bu was not just a guitar. She was a friend. When the world was out to get me and nothing was going right, she was there. She didn't say anything, but she always allowed me to speak through her. Our relationship was one of a kind, for I never played her, but she played her hidden songs through me. The bond that I felt the second my fingers touched her strings was truly quite strong. Bu had seen and heard so much in her brief but meaningful life. Countless kids have come forward and knelt before God to the sound of her soothing melodies. She was there for the breakups and heartache as well as the joy of new beginnings. Through her, I discovered the poet inside me. Every song that was mine was written with her right along side me and together we struggled to find the right words or notes. I know some of you think I'm trying to be goofy but I truly mean every word that I say. Bu loved each and every one of you, so if you all wouldn't mind, please take a moment and remember her and think of all that she was...... Thank you.

El Fine

Well the play is over. Thanks to everyone who came to support us. I had a blast doing the whole thing and I think we all got so much closer as friends. I'm sad to see it go but then I think, "oh wait! we have three weeks till we cast for the next one!" Until then I suppose I'll work on Four Tickets to Christmas. Well I'm out, gotta go get ready for church. See you guys later.

Play

Hey guys, I just wanted to let everyone know about this next weekend. JHS Drama is putting on our fall play "Drop Dead!" as I'm sure many of you already know. I just wanted to tell everyone one more time that they need to come see it. I promise the show is funny (at least the cast seems to think so) and it's only $5, and your money can help out our drama department. It's This coming week, Thursday 17th, Friday 18th, and Saturday 19th and the show starts at 7:30. Also, I want to congradulate Nettleton on a great job on their play "Loving Lives." It was really cute and you guys did a good job!

post

Well I figure it's about time for an update. I don't have much to say but here we go. The play is going awesome so all of you guys need to come see it. Talk to Brian or me if you want tickets. The youth went on a hayride last weekend and that was really a lot of fun. It's nice to be doing stuff with everyone again since I haven't been able to. Well All-Region Jazz try outs were tonight. I got 2nd band 1st chair. I guess that's ok but I'm really disappointed in myself. I can't try out good, I never could. I knew the music perfectly but I simply choked. Oh well, life goes on I guess. Well that's all I got for now.

Bout time

So yeah it's definately been a while since I updated but I'm back. In case you guys don't know, Ruler of the Bass Mr. Mark Gibson has a new baby. And I must say it's purdy. With that news I feel as though you should all be informed that Conviction is back and better than ever. We've all been writing up a storm so you can definately be expecting the new album to be out soon under Loft Records. In the mean time you can check us out on the web at www.myspace.com/conviction1. Yes, I'm aware there is a 1 at the end, conviction was already taken. Well that's all I got for now. Take care and God bless you.

P.S. Tickets for the the JHS production of "Drop Dead!" will soon be on sale. If you're interested please see Brian McFarlane or Lance Patterson (me).

cries a subtle tear

I hate to inform you all, but a tragedy has occured. Our beloved friend, Mark's bass, is lost. We don't know if it was stolen or taken as a cruel joke. If anyone knows any information as to it's whereabouts PLEASE let us know immediately. It is terribly missed. So many beautiful songs were waiting to be played just sitting bottled up inside it's glistening frets, hopefully each will one day flow the hands of it's master, Mr. Gibson.

I want to bicycle

Found out today that I shall being portraying the role of Victor LePewe in the JHS fall production of "Dearly Departed!" Just to inform those that don't know, that means I play a man who is ambiguously gay, but don't worry, Victor and I are both straight. So all of you definately need to go see the show. I promise you it'll be worth your money. I mean come on, I wouldn't grow out my hair for two months and dye it for a crappy play. The dates are November 17, 18, and 19 I do believe.
